I woke up at 4 am with busy brain and like a yutz, checked email (because yeah, my iPhone is right next to the bed - hey, in my defense, I use it as the alarm clock). What really should have been a good news email for some reason deflated me. I tossed and turned for another hour then decided it was time to get up and get work done. Checked email again, another bit of good news that somehow took a detour between my eyes and brain and left me wishing I could crawl deeper into my cave.
Ah well … happens right? Maybe if a make a dent in my revisions I'll feel better and then have the day to devote to the rest of my crazy task list. But no, my favorite purple pen ran out of ink. And for the life of me, I couldn't get past one of the scenes. Abandon mission.
Next, bring on the morning getting-readies. It really felt like a Monday in our house! Oy! Jammies and cushy chair take me away!
On the way back from school drop-off my car took matters into her own hands and turned left into the Staples parking lot instead of right toward our neighborhood. For me, therapy shopping boils down to pens and notebooks. So I bought a couple of packets of my favorite purple editing pen and a happy notebook for PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month) which starts tomorrow.
And suddenly the day doesn't seem as yucky anymore.
What's your comfort buy for gloomy mood days?
